TLC
Tender Loving Care or Tanya Lovett Care
- it's what I offer you
Tender Loving Care:
a phrase that embodies the spirit of kindness, compassion, and nurturing support. It is about providing care that is both gentle and attentive. TLC is more than just a set of actions; it’s an attitude that values empathy, patience, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others.
About You and Me
You:
You are a woman in your 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond, wanting to recover from your eating disorder. You're probably exhausted and wondering whether anything can help. Most likely you will have been affected for years or even decades, and many parts of your life now look so different from what you'd pictured when you were young.
Me:
TLC - which stands for Tanya Lovett Care - was an acronym given to me by a colleague in the NHS, who saw that what I offered our patients closely resembled the usual meaning of TLC - tender loving care.
I offer you an approach which is guided by my use of compassion, curiosity and kindness and which puts you at the centre of your recovery. I have worked for over 30 years in the NHS, principally in eating disorder services. I bring knowledge and experience from that and combine it with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or tapping) and hypnotherapy to offer you an approach to recovery that is different and can be effective where other approaches haven't been.

Eating Disorders or disordered eating
Can be life-threatening, definitely life-impacting and can leave a person feeling powerless. People I work with who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond, have often struggled for years or decades, wanting desperately to recover, and at the same time fearing what that means - loss of identity, facing feelings that have long been buried, changing shape, being seen, saying no - or yes, grieving and growing.
Through TLC I commit to meet you with gentleness, kindness and compassion. I commit to listen, to accept without a shred of judgement, to be curious and to support you to discover yourself to have the courage to be that self fully.
EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques or Tapping
offers a unique way of addressing issues. It has to be experienced to know its potential, but it offers a gentle and often easy way to disempower a trauma response, change a perspective or understanding, release patterns and habits that have become stuck - as it says in the name, give you emotional freedom.
Hypnotherapy
offers another way of helping the conscious mind "get out of the way" so that healing and change can take place.
And just to note
Both techniques draw on your inner knowledge and resources - they are not done to you.
I believe that you will feel empowered being at the centre of your recovery, uncovering what you actually already know but perhaps have, as yet, been too frightened to own.
I recommend you commit yourself to a series of sessions so you can really give yourself space to recover; I offer a discount when you book 5 or 10 sessions. But I'd recommend you book one session first and then, if you're happy working with me, book the package
And I work online, so you can stay in your space for each session.

Tap Your Trauma Away
My book which can give you a flavour of my work
Childhood trauma and abuse can have an impact long into adulthood. In this book the author tells the stories of four women who address the effects of their childhood experience using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or tapping) and Matrix Reimprinting. With a Foreword by Karl Dawson, EFT Founding Master and Creator of Matrix Reimprinting, this book is written for you if you have been through your own trauma in your childhood and are looking for release; and it's for anyone who is intrigued by EFT and Matrix and wants an insider view on a typical EFT/Matrix journey and how the techniques are used to enable people to reduce the intensity of the negative effects of their past.

I love reading and audiobooks. Here are some titles you might enjoy and help you grow. Just to let you know, as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I've only recently begun to understand Tolle's thinking but it's true that our resentments, anger, bitternesses are connected with the past and our anxieties with the future. The more you focus on the present, the less important are those negatives and the more power you have. But it's takes practice. It's also cool to begin to notice and catch yourself in unhelpful patterns that are related to past experiences or worries about the future and realise they are either no longer relevant or may never be so. Have a read - or a listen - if you prefer audiobooks. http://www.amazon.com.be/dp/0340733500/ref=nosim?tag=thelightnessc-21
